Support and guidance for pardon applications, provincial detention, and criminal records

Alter Justice is a non-profit organization that assists individuals involved in the criminal justice system, their loved ones, and those with a criminal record seeking to apply for a pardon.

To this end, we offer various intervention, information, and support programs:

  • Comprehensive, free assistance with applications to expunge a criminal record (pardon applications)
  • Information regarding criminal records
  • Information on the rights of incarcerated individuals and the operation of Quebec’s correctional services (sentences of 2 years or less)
  • Workshops on the impacts of criminal records and cybercrime among youth

Please note that we are currently accepting only English applications for criminal record suspension (pardon). We invite you to sign up for our callback list or scan this QR code if you want to do one in french.

The prison system, the judicial system, and crime are complex topics that are often misunderstood by the public. Alter Justice believes it is important to present the public with a realistic picture of crime, incarceration, and the judicial system.

Alter Justice aims to inform and raise public awareness about issues related to crime, criminalization and incarceration, and to share the results of research conducted on these topics through various tools and activities focused on information, awareness, and public education.

Thanks to our expertise, we can inform the public about the status of the correctional system, detention conditions, and the main challenges faced by people involved in the criminal justice system.
