When art and social rehabilitation meet

Alter Justice is proud to present the 7th edition of Artis Judiciali!

This activity was created to raise awareness among Quebec City residents about the social and community reintegration of individuals involved in the justice system. This event gives them, along with their loved ones and those who work with them, the opportunity to exhibit their artwork. In doing so, it provides the public with a better understanding of the issues they face.

Artistic expression offers these individuals a refuge from confinement, whether social or physical. It helps them cope with loneliness, despair and dark thoughts, while allowing them to fully explore their potential.

Because criminal prosecution is not a dead end. Change is possible.

For its 7th edition, Artis Judiciali takes a critical look at a central question: are we all equal before the law?

Through an exhibition of powerful works and a panel discussion bringing together various actors from the judicial system, the event seeks to highlight the all-too-often invisible experiences of people involved in the justice system.

We need your help to ensure that these stories do not remain in the shadows. Together, let’s bring them to light! Make a donation.

The event will take place on October 16th, 2025, in a 5@8 format, at the Théâtre Périscope (2 Crémazie Street East, Quebec City). You can find more information on our website or on our social media pages. An exhibition of works will take place from September 30th to October 19th. Don’t miss it!

Activities

A festive cocktail reception will be held at Théâtre Périscope on October 16th, starting at 5 p.m.! We hope to see many of you there!

We will have the pleasure of welcoming Courtepointe, a jazz group with an eclectic repertoire that brings together compositions and arrangements by women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community in a musical patchwork that is both gentle and colourful. Now a duo, the group is composed of Anna Haguette (vocals) and Laurence Beaulieu (guitar), both graduates of Laval University’s Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Performance program.
