Our workshops inform and educate the public about issues related to the correctional and judicial systems, crime, social rehabilitation and prevention of delinquency.
Alter Justice offers various workshops on the Quebec prison system, criminal records, their effects and remedies in cases of discrimination, as well as on juvenile delinquency.
The organization’s representatives also meet with incarcerated citizens during workshops offered in various sectors of the Quebec Detention Centre.

As teenagers, we often ask ourselves questions about sex, romantic relationships and what consent means. This 75-minute presentation provides clarity on sexuality and its various dimensions.
This activity will demystify the consequences that certain sexually suggestive behaviours can have on young people. We will focus in particular on those that constitute a criminal offence under the law.
Specific Topics
The cycle of domestic violence, egalitarian relationships, sexual violence, sexual consent and legal definitions, the impact of pornography, and cybercrimes involving sexual activity.

Applying for a criminal record suspension (known as a pardon) is a process that limits access to criminal records, thereby promoting social and community reintegration.
As an employee of an organization that provides support for pardon applications, you will act as a facilitator in the application process. You will also support clients by referring them to various resources and serve as an ally in their social and community (re)integration (particularly in employment).
This training will enable community workers to assist individuals with criminal records in their pardon application process.

These are lecture-style training sessions, but participants are encouraged to interact. Discussions are strongly recommended to enrich the training and any discussions that may arise. Exercises will be completed during the training and between sessions.
