By becoming a member of Alter Justice, you will contribute to the organization’s vitality and strength. Alter Justice members come from all walks of life. They are individuals and organizations committed to respecting human dignity and social justice; who believe that the fight against crime begins first and foremost with the prevention and rehabilitation of offenders. Are you one of those who believe that our justice and correctional system must align with more humane values focused on reparation, rehabilitation and social reintegration? Join us and become a member!

Being a Member Means Contributing to the Vitality of the Organization
Being a member of Alter Justice means having the opportunity to participate in the organization’s life. You will be able to attend the general meeting, have your say on the organization’s orientations and elect members of the board of directors. Your presence at the meeting is always welcome, but it is not compulsory.

Becoming a Member, is Adding Your Voice
By becoming a member of Alter Justice, you add your voice to those of everyone who cares deeply about social reintegration and the rights of people involved with the justice system; in this way, you help strengthen the organization’s voice in its work and advocacy.

Your support shows that there are people who share our vision of a fair and safe society that upholds human rights, promotes the social reintegration of people involved with the justice system, and adopts a preventive approach to crime.

Being a member of Alter Justice gives you access to information on key issues related to the prison and justice systems and criminality through our newsletter and e-newsletter. You will also have access to information about our main activities.

By becoming a member of Alter Justice, you support our work and enable us to do more. Your contribution encourages the work of our staff and volunteers.

Fees and terms

Members
To become a member of the organization, a person must be at least 14 years old or be a legal entity (Corporate Ally) that shares the organization’s general objectives and values. Furthermore, the person must comply with the organization’s constitution and bylaws. In addition, their application for membership or renewal, accompanied by the statutory membership fee, must be submitted to the organization for approval.

Membership is granted for a period of one (1) year from the date of approval of the membership application, accompanied by the statutory membership fee, in the case of a new member, or one (1) year from the previous expiry date, in the case of a renewal.

  • Membership – Individual Member: $15 per year

Includes 1 copy of the AJ Bulletin (2 issues per year)

  • Membership – Corporate Partner: $200 per year
    Includes 1 copy of the AJ Bulletin (2 issues per year)
  • Membership – Community Member: $100 per year
    Includes 1 copy of the AJ Newsletter (2 issues per year)
  • Membership – Plus Member: $30 per year
    Includes 1 copy of the AJ Bulletin (2 issues per year)
  • Subscription to the AJ Bulletin: $20 per year
    1 copy of the AJ Bulletin (2 issues per year)

Additional copies
You can obtain additional copies of the AJ Bulletin for an extra $2 per copy.
